A Heritage Walk Paver Dedication Ceremony will be held on Veterans Day on November 11 at 11am. Commemorative pavers purchased since the Memorial Day Dedication will be unveiled during this ceremony.
Activities scheduled for that day include:
11 a.m. – 1pm – Appreciating Sacrifice, a 4-hour mini-camp teaching children 5-11 the meaning and importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices Soldiers make daily. $10 per camper. Call the Education Department at 706-685-5849 or register online now.
11 a.m. – Paver Dedication Ceremony on Inouye Field for commemorative pavers installed since Memorial Day. Guest speaker: BG (RET) Jim Yarbrough.
12:30 p.m. – Local Boy Scouts will conduct an official flag retirement ceremony at the fire pit behind the museum.
The museum will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. November 11. There is no admission fee, however a $5 per person donation is requested. The Fife and Drum restaurant will be open for lunch. Giant Screen Theater documentaries D-Day and We the People will be shown throughout the afternoon at regular ticket prices.
