Are you planning to visit the National Infantry Museum during the holidays? The museum is open from 9:00am – 5:00pm Tuesday-Saturday and 11:00am – 5:00pm on Sunday. The museum will be open on Christmas Eve (December 24) and on New Year’s Eve (December 31st) with normal operating hours. Additionally, the National Infantry Museum will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Turkey Shoot at EST2000 Rifle Range | Wednesday, November 27
The National Infantry Museum’s Annual Turkey Shoot at the EST2000 Rifle Range is on Wednesday, November 27th from 10AM-4PM. Admission is $10 per person.
The Gift of the Freedom Tree | November 29 – December 30
Visitors are encouraged to write words of support for our Soldiers and Veterans. Each letter of support will be placed on the Freedom Trees, located in the museum’s Grand Hall, and then sent to Veterans across the nation throughout the holiday season. Dog tag ornaments with yellow ribbons will be provided for visitors to personalize. Supporters from afar are encouraged to send us your words of support via mail to:

The Polar Express 3D returns to IMAX Theatre | Nov. 29 – Dec. 22
The Polar Express 3D is returning to the IMAX Theatre at the National Infantry Museum in December.
Kids (and parents, too!) are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the magical journey to the North Pole to find the true spirit of Christmas. Screenings of The Polar Express 3D at the National Infantry Museum have been made even more popular by the lobby appearances of the train’s Conductor. Longtime museum volunteer and docent Owen Ditchfield plays the part to perfection, punching children’s initials into the famous Golden Tickets.

Book Signing: Civil War Eufaula | December 6, 11am -3pm
Meet historian and author, Mike Bunn on December 6th during his book signing, ‘Civil War Eufaula’. The book signing will take place in the National Infantry Museum lobby from 11am – 3pm.
Told for the first time is the compelling story of the Bluff City during the Civil War. Historian and preservationist Mike Bunn takes you from the pivotal role Eufaula played in Alabama’s secession and early enthusiasm for the Confederate cause to its aborted attempt to become the state’s capital and its ultimate capture by Union forces, chronicling the effects of the conflict on Eufaulans along the way.
President Roosevelt Reenactment | December 7, 2pm
G. Robert Prater, noted FDR reenactor, will perform for the last time the “Day of Infamy” speech and answer questions in character at the World War II Company Street Chapel. The performance will be his last before retirement. The reenactment will begin at 2 p.m. on December 7th.
Military Leader Transition Seminar | December 9, 8-5pm
The Military Leader Transition Seminar is open to transitioning leaders from all ranks, and will be held December 9, 2013 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the National Infantry Museum. The full-day seminar features tactical job search skills, such as resume writing and interview preparation, and trains departing service members on the strategic mindset that is necessary to develop a lifetime civilian career as opposed to a job. ‘Joys of Freedom’ Mini-Camp| December 14, 2-6pm
Celebrate the Holidays with us during our ‘Joys of Freedom’ Mini-Camp on December 14th from 2-6pm. Campers will enjoy crafts, a holiday movie and pajama party, hot chocolate and more!
