A Heritage Walk Paver Dedication Ceremony will be held on Memorial Day on May 28 at 10am. Commemorative pavers purchased since the Veterans Day Dedication will be unveiled during this ceremony.
Due to inclement weather, we will hold the paver dedication ceremony indoors. We will have to cancel the flag retirement ceremony and the World War II Street tours, but the museum’s galleries and attractions will be open for your observation of Memorial Day.
Activities scheduled for that day include: If it rains, ceremony will be moved indoors.
9 a.m. – 1pm – Kids 5-11 years old will enjoy hands-on fun, guided tours, fun facts and refreshments during the NIM Kids Memorial Day Mini-Camp at the National Infantry Museum. $10 per camper. Call the Education Department at 706-685-5849 or register online.
10 a.m. – Paver Dedication Ceremony on Heritage Walk for commemorative pavers installed since Veterans Day. Guest speaker: BG David Lesperance, Commandant of the U.S. Army Armor School.
The museum will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 28. There is no admission fee, however a $5 per person donation is requested. The Fife and Drum restaurant will be open for lunch. Giant Screen Theater documentaries will be shown throughout the afternoon beginning at 12pm at regular ticket prices.
