Each year the National Infantry Museum hosts NIM Kids Summer Camp! Kids ages 7-14 can choose from a variety of day camps throughout the summer that best fit their interest in U.S. military history.  Each camp session is designed to promote teamwork and instill the distinct qualities of the Army Values. From learning about major conflicts in American history to discovering local terrain at Oxbow Meadows, every camper will develop a deeper understanding of the American way of life and what it takes to protect our freedoms.

Campers also get the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Soldier, participate in community service, and engage with Veterans about their experiences in the military. And of course, chow is provided daily based on the rations given to Soldiers at the time period campers are studying. Hardtack or MRE, anyone?  

• Week one: June 2- June 6 for ages 9-11                Operation Challenge Accepted: Get ready for a fun week of leadership challenges! Through exciting games and activities, campers will learn valuable leadership skills and teamwork while having a blast.
• Week two: June 9- June 13 for ages 12-14           Operation Advance and Overcome: Dive deeper into leadership with hands-on activities and fun challenges! Campers will grow in confidence, problem-solving, and teamwork — all while having an awesome time.
• Week three: June 16- June 20 for ages 7-8         Operation Boots on the Ground: Experience what it’s like to be a soldier through fun, interactive games! Campers will learn about teamwork, perseverance, and what it takes to work together, all while enjoying hands-on activities.
• Week four: June 23- June 27 for ages 9-12

  Operation Got Your 6: Discover how the branches of the military work together in this action-packed week! Campers will explore teamwork and communication through fun activities that highlight collaboration.

• Week five: July 7- July 11 for ages 7-8

  Operation Walking in Their Boots: Step into the past and experience the life of a soldier! Through fun games and hands-on activities, campers will learn how history has shaped today’s world, all while building teamwork skills.
