National Vietnam War Veterans Day Weekend
The National Infantry Museum welcomes community members, museum guests, and Veterans to a weekend honoring the legacy of Vietnam War Veterans. Commemorative activities include a ceremony at the Vietnam Wall, free movie showings and free Vietnam gallery tours, and Vietnam-era objects pulled from the Army collections on limited exhibit. Join us March 28th and 29th to honor the legacy of our nation’s heroes and learn more about the Vietnam War – including the actions of celebrated Fort Benning Veteran, COL Hal Moore.

The ceremony will take place at the peaceful and reflective Vietnam Plaza and Wall, a permanent memorial featuring the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, an 8-foot-high, 240-foot-long replica with the names of more than 58,000 service members who died or remain missing.
The program will acknowledge the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of Vietnam Veterans with remarks from our guest speaker, CSM (Ret.) Martin Celestine, followed by a moment of unity and remembrance.

Free Film Screenings
As part of our weekend observance, we’re offering free showings of the acclaimed Vietnam War film We Were Soldiers. This powerful feature brings to life the story of bravery and brotherhood during one of the conflict’s defining battles.

Throughout the weekend we’ll showcase a collection of rare Vietnam-era artifacts from the Army’s historical collection in the museum lobby. These objects — uniforms, equipment, and memorabilia — offer a tangible connection to the service and sacrifice of those who served.
