The Dark Knight Rises Comes to IMAX!

Jun 28, 2012

The IMAX Theatre at the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center will premiere The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience on the date of its national release, July 20, 2012. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, June 29. The first show is scheduled for just after midnight on Thursday, July 19 (12:01 a.m. July 20).

The Dark Knight Rises is the much-anticipated epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s popular Batman trilogy. Christian Bale leads the all-star cast, which also includes Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman.

The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience will feature more than an hour of footage filmed with IMAX cameras. The previous film in the trilogy contained just 40 minutes of the large-format film. Director Christopher Nolan has embraced IMAX photography because of its unique ability to immerse viewers into the film. The National Infantry Museum’s IMAX screen is 70 feet wide and 5 stories high.

The IMAX release will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make you feel as if you are in the movie.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the box office in the museum lobby, or by calling 706-685-2622 beginning Friday, June 30, during museum operating hours. Ticket prices will be: $10 for adults; $9 for students, military and seniors; and $8 for children 4-12. Stay tuned to the National Infantry Museum’s website (www.nationalinfantrymuseum.com) and Facebook page (National Infantry Museum) for updates.
